New Year — New Website
So I have been pretty quiet on the blog front since last year. In fact for anyone new, this may be your first look at my blog. I have recently moved my website to a new host and have been spending a lot of time tyring to get everything just right. In the process I have lost the blog functionality from my website but have gained a much better gallery layout and store, amongst other features. So for now I have moved to medium.com for blogging purposes.
Prior to moving the website, I was using WIX as my host. For the most part WIX suited me just fine and the functionality, website template and their customer service were excellent. However, I wanted to set up a store so that if a customer would wish to purchase my images, they could do so easily and with as little friction as possible. This is where WIX fell down, as without purchasing a pricey upgrade that wasn't possible. It also didnt work well with galleries, offering no keyword search function.
So I went off to find the perfect solution. Something that could give me a great looking website, be user friendly, allow visitors to purchase images aswell as having great customer service. Believe me, it was no easy search. Trying to weigh up what each host offered whilst doing it for a great price and also allowing me to give my customers a great price.
Step up to the plate, Zenfolio.
I know by now you’re probably thinking that this is an ad but I promise you, it is not. I am just truly happy with my new website host that I wanted to let you all know about it. Zenfolio’s customer service has been great from the beginning offering helpful suggestions and solutions aswell as a couple of Zoom calls to discuss things more in-depth.
Zenfolio have been rebuilding their product from the ground up over the last couple of years. Speaking with photographers and asking them what they need from their website, and you can tell it’s all helped to shape an excellent product. Despite not having a blog functionality, yet, most other features that you would expect from a photographers website are all present and correct. I look forward to growing my business with Zenfolio as the host of my website and hope too that I can help them in return as they shape their product into the perfect tool for photographers.
